So you’re applying for your MC number and the FMCSA is asking you for Proof of Arbitration. What is that? You’re in the right place.
What is arbitration?
Arbitration is required for all interstate movers in the U.S. The FMCSA regulates that anyone hiring a moving company has the right to a third party arbitration process if they cannot agree on compensation for damages with their mover. This means that if your customer is unwilling to accept your final offer for compensation for items damaged in a move, they can reach out to the arbitration provider you are enrolled with.
Failure to enroll with an arbitration company is a huge legal liability which has cost movers astronomical sums in court.
How do I get arbitration?
Many movers associations offer arbitration services as an included benefit for in their membership fees. If you are part of a movers association, check with them first to see if they have an arbitration program.
Otherwise, you can enroll with us. Moving Pros Network serves as the arbitration provider for hundreds of interstate movers across the United States.
